چکیده

The PFRP was host to “Tagging and Tracking Marine Fish with Electronic Devices,” a major international symposium held at the East-West Center in Honolulu from February 7–11, 2000. More than 100 scientists and electronics manufacturers from a dozen countries assembled to share their findings and discuss the state-of-the-art in this rapidly developing field. Results from all of earth’s oceans were presented. Species discussed included tropical cephalopods (squids, octopii and cuttlefish), salmon, tunas, marlins, cod, reef fish, sea basses and sharks, from habitats ranging from shallow inshore waters to the deep ocean. Symposium proceedings will be published in 2000 as a book by Kluwer Press.

Role of Wearable Technology in the Diagnosis and Prevention of COVID-19

Nowadays, the role of technology innovations in precaution, early diagnosis, and treatment is not deniable due to the increase in various types of electronics. Additionally, increasing costs of medical services and lack of medical expertise and specialists in remote regions double the necessity of using technology in this field. Wearable technology comprising a large group of worn gadgets, incl...

Silicon tracking detectors in high-energy physics

Since the fifties, semiconductors have been used as energy spectrometers, mainly in unsegmented ways. With the planar technique of processing silicon sensors in unprecedented precession, strip-like segmentation has allowed precise tracking and even vertexing, culminating in the early eighties with NA11 in the tagging of heavy flavor quarks—here the c-quark. With the later miniaturization of ele...

A Low - Cost Electromagnetic Tagging Technology for Wireless

A technical overview of near-field electromagnetic tagging is presented and described in the context of adding functionality, efficiency, and convenience to the spaces in which we live and work. A survey of all common forms of electromagnetic tagging is given, including shoplifting tags and RF-ID (Radio-Frequency Identification) tags. Focus is given to low-cost electromagnetic tags based solely...

Test and Evaluation of Patient Tracking Platform: Use of Near Field Communication

In an earthquake situation, medical response communities such as field and referral hospitals are being challenged with injured victims’ identification and tracking. In our project, we developed a patient tracking platform (PTP). In this platform, first responders triage the patients with an electronic tag that reports the location and some information of each patient during his or her movement...

Trajectory Tracking of Two-Wheeled Mobile Robots, Using LQR Optimal Control Method, Based On Computational Model of KHEPERA IV

This paper presents a model-based control design for trajectory tracking of two-wheeled mobile robots based on Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) optimal control. The model proposed in this article has been implemented on a computational model which is obtained from kinematic and dynamic relations of KHEPERA IV. The purpose of control is to track a predefined reference trajectory with the best po...
